Regional

Sales are stored in UTC. The store timezone decides which day a sale belongs to, so reports match the register rather than the clock in Greenwich.

Historical sales

Load sales made on paper before the POS went in. Each sale is dated from the sheet and taxed at the rate that applied on that date.

Quantity pricing

Price breaks by quantity for a single item (e.g. bottles at 12, 24, or a full case). The customer always gets the lowest applicable price.

Import historical sales

Fill the Sales and Lines sheets from the paper records. Nothing is written until you commit.

Store information

The name goes at the top of every receipt. The rest appears beneath it.

Tax authorities

A rate is recorded from a date rather than overwritten. Sales keep the tax they were charged, and a sale imported from paper is taxed at the rate that applied on the day it was made — so the dates here are what price your history, not just today.

Where it applies

Rates

Record a rate

A date that already has a rate corrects that rate. An earlier date fills in what was charged before — which is how an old sale imports at the right tax.

Payment types

What the shop takes. The register draws its buttons from this list, so a tender added here is at the counter on the next page load. Switching one on and off is on the panel behind this.

Add a tender

A tender that is not cash, a cheque or a card is taken like cash: the sale records what it was paid with, and nothing is sent to a card reader.

Locations

Where the shop trades. A location decides which tax is charged and where stock is counted, and every till belongs to one.

Add a till

A second register, or a market stall. Each till has its own receipt numbering and its own card reader, and each device is enrolled to one.

Letters and digits, up to 10. It goes at the front of every receipt number, like POS1-000001.

Terminal Settings

Sets how wide the receipt is laid out. The printed and on-screen receipts both follow it.
Enter the exact Windows printer name. Leave blank to use the default printer.
